The past two-weeks we have written about the town of Broome and north of Broome and all the locations and things we would recommend in those areas. The following itinerary is written to be used in conjunction with those three blog posts which have more details about the places listed here.
After doing two-weeks in Broome and visiting different locations, this is how we recommend you spend your two-week holiday in Broome! Please note that for most of the locations in this itinerary, you will need a 4WD vehicle.
- Caravan Park in town – Tarangau Caravan Park – We didn’t actually stay here as we were in the overflow (Seventh Day Adventist Overflow – excellent if you can’t get into a caravan park), but we drove past it and it looked really nice. To be honest, most caravan parks would be similar in the area. So get in where ever you can and visit all the spots we listed in our Broome town blog post above before heading up the Cape. Then it is time to stock up at Coles/Woolies before heading up the Cape, because there isn’t any shops up there!
- Willie Creek – FREE – Now it’s time to get into the “real” camping!! What better way to start it than at a free camp, and for the next few locations, you won’t be spending a cent!!
- Barred Creek – FREE
- James Price Point – FREE
- Banana Well Getaway – Now we are into the paid campgrounds, but not everything in life is free! This spot is $40 a night for an unpowered site and two adults.
- Middle Lagoon – $20 per person, per night.
- Embalgun Smithy’s Seaside Adventures – $20 per person, per night.
- Lombadina – $40 a night for an unpowered site for two adults.
- Kooljaman at Cape Leveque – $50 for two people, per night.
- Gumbanan Wilderness Retreat – $34 per night for an unpowered site.
- Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm & Accomodation – $50 per night for an unpowered site.
Please only use the site prices listed above as a GUIDE, as they may have been changed since we visited. We have only listed 11 days, so that you can pick and choose where you want to stay longer! We never plan our weeks day by day as things always change on the road, and why leave a site you LOVE for a site that you don’t actually know is going to be that good… So, if you are absolutely loving a spot, STAY!! Even skip spots on this list to make the most of YOUR trip
Happy travels guys! We hope that this has given you a starting point for planning your trip to Broome
