FREE Cave Tour – Things to do in Jurien Bay region

While we stayed at Sandy Cape Campgrounds, we went for a day trip inland to visit Stockyard Gully National Park. The National Park has an amazing group of limestone caves that lead to an underwater river system. We explored the largest cave, which is open to the public and is 300m long. There is also a loop track which is about 1.5km and goes through the amazing forest surrounding the caves. It was so beautiful!

When visiting the caves, make sure you bring your own torch as the cave is completely dark. As you enter the cave there is also a bee hive, so beware of them although they did not bother us as we entered. We would also recommend wearing some comfortable walking shoes if you plan to do the short hike around the caves.

Getting there:

Stockyard Gully National Park is 3 hours north-east of Perth. It took us an hour to get there from Sandy Cape Campgrounds. It is four-wheel drive vehicle access only. We headed north alone Cockleshell Gully Road and the followed the signs to the cave.
