Sunrise at Kalbarri National Park’s Skywalk

Sunrise at Kalbarri National Park’s Skywalk

Kalbarri National Park is home to the new skywalk. The National Park is a part of the traditional lands of the Nanda people, in the Yamaji region of WA. The entry sign at the beginning of the sky walk reads ‘Kaju Yatka’ which is Nanda words for ‘sky’ and ‘to walk’.

We have visited Kalbarri three times now and had never gone to the National Park on sunrise, so this time we did! It did not disappoint! There was a little bit of cloud cover but it was so tranquil and peaceful. We sat and watched the sun come up from the Skywalk, you could have heard a pin drop! You could hear the birds playing around below in the gorges and the flow of the water from the recent rains in Kalbarri. It was magical.

We then went down to Natures Window and got our annual photo! Although the Loop trail was closed due to damages from the Cyclone, the Z bend trail was still open. The Z bend is one of our favourite trails! If you are visiting the National Park we would definitely recommend doing it! Pack a pair of bathers and go for a dip in the freezing cold gorge water!

Here is our photo from this year at Nature’s Window – Kalbarri National Park
