The Pinnacles Desert in Western Australia

The Pinnacles Desert in Western Australia

The Pinnacles Desert of Nambung National Park is located around 200km north of Perth in Western Australia. The Pinnacles were formed roughly 25,000 to 30,000 years ago and are natural limestone structures. They are super easy to get too and there is no need for a 4WD.

The Pinnacles range in size, with some very close to the ground and others towering over you! You can visit them at any time, although the park closes at 9pm. It is a $15 per car entry, unless you are a Parks Pass holder (which we highly recommend getting!!).

Self-drive tour

The Pinnacles is a self-drive tour and the loop track was about 4km long. There are plenty of points to pull over so you can take photos and get a closer look at the Pinnacles. We did the track slowly, stopping multiple times for photos and to go to the lookouts, and then did a second hot lap and really took it all in!

So, would we recommend visiting?

YES!! In all honesty, we thought it would be underwhelming, but it was the opposite! It was so amazing to see and we would 100% stopping in if you have time! Very cool!
