Travelling in a caravan or camper can sometimes be about compromise! But there is one thing we refuse to compromise on and that is the comfort of our bed & our sleep! (Until we have kids that is😆). When we first set off on our trip around Australia we bought a cheap mattress topper online and tried to cut it to size to fit our caravan bed. However, every night the mattress topper would slip down & we had to remake the whole bed daily. We tried to attach straps to keep it in place, then tried to cut it down even more, but nothing was working. When we saw the Dreamer RV Caravan Mattress Toppers we immediately needed to try one! We have had the Dreamer RV Wanderluxe Caravan Mattress Topper & Waterproof Caravan Mattress Protector on our caravan bed for over two months and are now happy to share our honest opinions on the products.

BEFORE
As you can see, the Mattress Topper which we had originally had quite a lot of overhang and wasn’t fitted to the bed. This caused it to move around a lot.
AFTER
The Wanderluxe Caravan Mattress Topper by Dreamer RV has been designed to fit perfectly with your caravan bed & has straps at either end of the bed to secure it in place.
Installation Process
The installation is super quick and easy! Once you have the mattress topper out of the packaging there are two little straps on the two top corners of the mattress topper which secure around the mattress of your caravan. There is also one large strap at the bottom of the mattress topper that secures it to the bottom of the mattress to avoid the topper slipping.
Once it is laid out flat on your mattress all you have to do is leave it to expand for around 24-48 hours. We laid ours on the bed in the morning and that night it had fully expanded, so we only left ours for around 12 hours before we slept on it and it was fine.
Once your mattress topper has expanded you can put your Mattress Protector on to protect it from spills and everyday wear. The best part about the mattress protector is that it is waterproof & washable!
Our honest opinion on the products:
After two months of having the mattress topper & protector on our bed, we are very happy with the quality. The materials they have used are soft to the touch and make for a comfortable sleep. They feel like high-quality materials that are durable and will last in our caravan for years to come. As we all know, a caravan or camper is an open-plan living space and the bed is right in the middle of it all, so it’s not uncommon to have spills or dirt on the bed. With the Mattress Protector being waterproof & washable this protects our topper from any unwanted spills seeping into it and causing any damage to the product (or unwanted smells). We think if you want to get the most out of your Mattress Topper a Waterproof Mattress Protector is a good investment.
Our main issue with our last mattress topper was that it was not fitted to the bed so it slipped around and we needed to make the bed daily. We are very pleased to say that in the two months of using the Dreamer RV Wanderluxe Mattress Topper, it hasn’t slipped out of place once! The anti-slip base of the topper and the straps they have incorporated into the topper have done their job well.
The Waterproof Mattress Protector washed well in the washing machine & the Topper still looked brand-new underneath which saved us from having to remove the cover from the topper & wash that as well. The straps on the topper have not stretched & are still taught. Overall, we are happy with this product and would recommend the Mattress Topper & Waterproof Protector.
